Rep. Meadows Statement on Unemployment Rate Dropping to Lowest Level since 1969
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) released the following statement on the news of the U.S. unemployment rate dropping to 3.7% in September, the lowest level since 1969:
“Amidst a chaotic news-cycle, the good numbers keep rolling in. We’ve now learned unemployment dropped to 3.7% in September—the lowest level in 49 years. This is a remarkable development that confirms the trend we’ve seen for nearly two years now since President Trump took office: conservative policies on tax cuts and deregulation work. Policies like these are delivering results directly to American workers.
Our job is not done. For the rest of the year, Congress should maintain a determined focus to build on this success and continue delivering reforms that support a pro-worker, pro-family, and pro-small business economic agenda. The results so far have been strong, but we owe it to Americans to fight harder than ever before on behalf of their interests. The hardworking men and women of this country deserve nothing less.”
