House Freedom Caucus Announces New Communications Director
Washington, D.C. - On Tuesday, the House Freedom Caucus announced Ben Williamson as the group’s new acting communications director. For the last three years, Williamson served as press secretary and later communications director for the group’s chairman, Rep. Mark Meadows (NC-11). Williamson will be in a dual role, continuing in Rep. Meadows’ communications office while serving with the Freedom Caucus, effective today.
Chairman Meadows released the following statement:
“We’re extremely excited to welcome Ben Williamson to the Freedom Caucus communications team. Ben is someone I’ve worked with for three years with the right experience to be an asset to our group. The entire Freedom Caucus membership thanks Darin Miller for his tremendous work with our caucus over the last year and a half, and we wish him all the best in his new role serving on the Vice President’s team.”
