Rep. Meadows’ Statement on March for Life 2017
Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mark Meadows released the following statement on the 2017 March for life:
“Thank you to the tens of thousands of Americans from across the country who came to Washington, D.C. today to peacefully demonstrate for the sanctity of life, as well as the millions across the country who support them.
America is at a historic crossroads. We have a new Administration in the White House that celebrates life and is committed to defending it. Last week, I was proud to support H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, which I’m hopeful will soon go to President Trump’s desk to be signed into law. In the coming weeks, Congress will also have the opportunity to take another important step in the fight to defend life: defunding abortion giant Planned Parenthood. I encourage my Republican colleagues to hold to the commitment they made to the American people and include language to strip federal funding from Planned Parenthood – the largest abortion provider in the country. No taxpayer funding should ever go toward a practice that runs counter to the consciences of millions of Americans across the country. Thank you to the so many who continue to speak out for the unborn. May we never forget that life is precious.”
